What should we name our pop cover EP?
So we’ve recently booked 4 whole days in the studio with our good friend Dan Angelow! If that means nothing to you then let me break it down!
Day 1: Record everything for the 4 originals we are re-recording
Day 2: Record everything for the 3 POP COVER SONGS we are recording
Day 3: Record bass, drums and maybe some guitars for our Wilbur Sargunaraj cover CD
Day 4: Record rest of guitar + vocals for Wilbur Sargunaraj Cover CD
Then mixing/mastering shall begin!!
But the question we place to you… is what shall we name our pop cover EP?!
We’re getting 3 CDs out of these recording sessions… Best answer gets free merch… SCORE!
So what are you waiting for?
Our next gig!

- Separate Ways

Different Face/Different Smile/Different Time
Another song off our first EP (FREE for download here: http://kdknowsmyname.bandcamp.com)
KD Knows My Name - Separate Ways
Lyrics:
Here we are again looking in a broken mirror
Reflecting what’s behind us in a different light
All the broken pieces show a different picture
A different face, a different smile, a different time
Everybody goes their separate ways
But I chose to stay, I chose to stay
I’m never gonna change. To see what you have put me through
Just come back? You’re never coming back
I was testing you and you failed. You failed with falling colours just like all the others
You said “it’s time for a change. It’s time for moving on”
But we’re still going strong
It’s been a long time now since you decided to go
And I wonder where you went and I wonder if you know
If you’re ever coming back or if you’re ever gonna show your face again to your old friends
‘cause everybody goes their separate ways
Some wicked photos from our gig in The Garage the other night. Taken by our wonderful photo taking friend Damien Rosser!

- You And My Army

Different Face/Different Smile/Different Time

This, as well as every song we post, are part of our compilation CD we’re selling at gigs which comprises a massive 12 songs - everything we’ve ever recorded (which is fit for listening to…) - for a meagre £2! If you’re lucky we’ll throw in a couple of badges too!
Another track from our début EP “Different Face/Different Smile/Different Time.” This was the first original song we wrote as this band!! The first half of the breakdown guitar work is courtesy of our ex-member and still great friend Dave Williams who now plays with our also great friends The Adelines!
This song is about judgemental people and how they should fuck off. Basically.
Lyrics:
Listen to yourself
‘cause no one else can tell you who I am
No one else gives a damn about me,
Yet they’re happy just to rant about me
If you close your ears what would you hear?
You wouldn’t hear a thing
Maybe if you just your eyes
You can see who I really am
I’d say you’ve got a lot of nerve, but nerves have feelings
I’d love to say it to your face if you came down from the ceiling
Listen to your friends or listen to me -
Who do you think knows me better?
Listen to my friends or my enemies -
Who do you think knows me better?
They may speak their mind but if their mind is already made up before they’ve given a chance for someone else to be themselves
Then who are you to judge someone else like me?
- Pepl r Worthels

Ok so another song for FREE DOWNLOAD

I can’t remember if, when I wrote this, I was trying to emphasise the ease I felt in writing music in a similar style to NOFX’s track The Desperation’s Gone or if I was taking a slight dig at pop music… You decide!
Lyrics:
It’s amazing how easy words rhyme
When you’ve got the time to think of them
It’s amazing how easy words get a long
It’s easy to blurt it all out
When you’ve got something to write about
It’s amazing how easy one write a song
But it ceases to be amazing
When only a few words are changing
And the melody is the same every time
The formula is completed
When the same five chords are repeated
And you start to reuse the rhymes
If only people were words
- The Last Time

Ok so if you’re looking for love songs you’re pretty much in the wrong place.
However, this is about as close as we’ll probably ever get to one!
Here’s the FREE download link: http://kdknowsmyname.bandcamp.com/track/the-last-time
Lyrics:
I held you so tight and for so long that
You told me you missed my face
When I finally smiled and you and looked into your eyes;
That was the last time that I
A feeling that is akin only to trapping a nerve
It’s unidentical twin courses down your spine
A shot of a bliss…. mixer with energy;
that was the last time that I
You somehow forced through your grin “it’s only been two weeks”
“Two weeks too long!” I said and somehow you smiled more
A feeling only akin to trapping a nerve;
I cant believe That was the last time that I
- A-hole Promotions

Fox
What’s that? You want a new track? Well why didn’t you guys just ASK!
This is the last track off our EP Fox called “A-hole Promotions”
It’s about SHIT promotors who don’t have a fucking clue how to treat bands and just put on gigs to rape money from the good fans and screw the bands over with lies, cheating and bum deals. It’s about a particular promotion guy from our area named “KeyHole” hence the A-hole, but the gist can be applied to many, many “companies” we’ve come into unfortunate contact with.
The whole EP is up for listening and download here: http://kdknowsmyname.bandcamp.com/album/fox
Lyrics:
A hole filled with dynamite; ready to explode 5pm on concert night
A whole load of disregard. “Shove the bands up my arse, shove the money on my card”
This can’t be real. Are you for real? Reeling in the fans; money rod in hand. You really know how to vandalise
(A lie’s) been told and told. A lot of tickets sold
A light feeling in your wallet. A lie ability unmatched
A liability to the bands. A license to exploit
A lie, a dick, a-hole
A wholesome person - no where in sight
His bark is kind even in the middle of a bite
A hole-y grin. A holy sin. A crooked nose. A crooked finger shows
The way to go vaguely. “Over there, maybe.”
It don’t matter to he doesn’t even care because everything is fair in promotion and war
When it’s just yourself your fighting for. Are you starting battles or wars? There’s no competition, just an exploitation petition - sign up and gain admission to find yourself a joke, a lie, a dick, in a hole
(hold) your cards to your chest.
We all know which band is best friends are always winners
You will always lose
Save your money chips stay in
Don’t you know the house always wins?
- No Shit, Shylock!

James Morris's Album
KD Knows My Name - No Shit, Shylock!
The last track from our debut EP “Different Face / Different Smile / Different Time”
Uploading this for our friend and fan kirsty marie
Whole 6-track EP available for FREE download here: http://kdknowsmyname.bandcamp.com/album/different-face-different-smile-different-time-2
**The lyrics in this whole track are based on “The Merchant Of Venice” by William Shakespeare.
She’s my Shylock and it wont be long before she tries to cut my heart out
A pound is all you ask for and it’s all you get
I only wish I’d ask for you to care not just “to be there”
Because “there” to you
Is right behind my back. As my ships sink I know you laugh
As I kick and I spit and scream and I curse your name
I watched you give my ring away. I’d cross dress just to watch you pay
I’m sick of doing things your way
Me and her have got an understanding: landing arrows in peoples’ backs is fine
As long as it’s mine
I don’t ask for much and thats what I get
I only wish I’d ask for you to care not just “to be there”
I am the fool in the silver casket
Seven times burned and still I haven’t learned
You are the perfect picture sitting in your frame
